Born in Darwin, I grew up with three younger siblings. My father was an SAS soldier, and as a result, our family moved regularly around the country. By the time we settled down, I had attended several schools. Although challenging, this experience built resilience and adaptability.
Boyup Brook is where I found a sense of home, completing my schooling there through to Year 10. From a young age, I spent school holidays working on farms, gaining valuable experience.
I attended Harvey Agricultural College, completing Years 11 and 12. This provided me with strong agricultural skills and workplace discipline, while also developing a deeper connection to the industry.
Straight out of school, I secured a harvest job driving a chaser bin, followed by a stint at a cattle feedlot. During this time, I continued working harvest seasons driving headers, further expanding my knowledge. I then returned to the shearing sheds, pressing wool and gaining valuable experience across the South West.
After this, I worked on a local farm with a contracting operation, specialising in hay, grain, and pasture systems, while assisting in the management of contracting activities. I remained involved with sheep during this time, further strengthening my overall agricultural skillset.
I then joined Rhodes Pastoral’s sheep crew, returning to a more livestock-focused role, which has been a rewarding step. We focus on producing a high-quality wool clip and fast-growing meat lambs through our fine-tuned, advanced feedlot operation. It is an exciting time for us as we move into a new era, building on the foundations set by those before us. We will continue to push boundaries and strive to be as professional and presentable as possible.
