A Family Rooted in the Land of Western Australia

Rhodes Pastoral covers 15,378 hectares in the Boyup Brook, Arthur River and Konjonup shires – and has been involved in agriculture since the 1950’s.

The Rhodes Family story has always revolved around the land, and it’s that single focus and strong ethos that has helped it grow into the large-scale agricultural operation it is today.

From the first purchase of land by Donovan Francis Duncan Rhodes in the 1950’s, Rhodes Pastoral is now firmly established as one of West Australia’s leading producers of premium crops, grain, cattle, sheep and wool. Their goal today is the same as it’s always been, to lead the industry in quality – whatever they produce.

Rhodes Family History

Don Rhodes started the company in the 1950’s with his first purchase of land in Boyup Brook and pioneering earthworks, building the Perth we know today from runways for Perth Airport, to the Garden Island Causeway and Canning Vale train line. Don’s pioneering, innovative attitude was the catalyst for their enduring success when, in the 1970’s, the company moved into agriculture and never looked back.

The Rhodes Farm Today

With lands spanning across three shires here in Western Australia, we firmly believe in the value of the agricultural industry, and take pride in the knowledge that what we produce feeds people in Australia and beyond, while taking our stewardship of the land and its resources seriously.

Since the 1950’s, the Rhodes family have been working on and improving the land, heavily investing into sustainably improving both the land we farm, and the way we do it. From mitigating land degradation, planting trees, and managing water resources, we are committed to looking after the land to protect the future of our operations.

By staying at the leading edge of agricultural technology, while carefully planning for the future – taking steps to drought proof the farm and ensure our crops and animals stay healthy – our current systems and record harvests are proof that we are doing something right and we anticipate to be able to manage and continue our growth for many years to come.
