Safety inductions the key to establishing safe work practices and a positive safety culture.

Rhodes Pastoral provides all new workers with a general farm induction across the broad agricultural sector. Specific inductions are provided by supervisors to ensure a practical understanding of the application of safety as part of their everyday operations.

Safe farm properties assisting in keeping workers children safe – recent inspections have been conducted of dwellings to ensure families are safe. Rhodes Pastoral extends its policies to the families that reside on the farm the safety of these families and their children is paramount. This has included RCD testing, smoke alarm checks, fencing and the provision of child safety fact sheets to raise awareness about the hazards on farm.  Recent upgrades to fencing and balustrading, at homes is just one example of the commitment to safety.

Shearing Shed Amenities improvement program

Over the last 6 months amenities blocks for all workers at the key shearing sheds on farm have been installed to ensure workers have a cool, clean and safe place to have their breaks. Each block has a shower and toilet, microwave and kettle. The provision of amenities was identified as a priority by Management for not only Rhodes workers but also its contractor’s during the shearing season.
